Most executive search firms are built to scale — more industries, more geographies, more clients. Regions Recruiting was built on a different premise entirely: that a firm which goes deep in one industry, one region, and one discipline will consistently outperform firms that try to cover everything.

That premise came from Kathy Nunnally Anemogiannis, Founder and President of Regions Recruiting — and from a career that gave her an unusually clear view of what great recruiting actually requires.

A BACKGROUND BUILT FOR THIS WORK

As the daughter of a university geography and earth sciences professor, Kathy grew up in different college towns across the region — developing a first-hand understanding of the Southeast’s communities, cultures, and economic fabric that most recruiters simply don’t have. It also instilled a deep respect for research, an instinct to ask “why,” and a comfort with complexity that has defined her career.

PERSPECTIVE BASED ON A RARE EXPERIENCE

Her professional history spans multiple disciplines at the highest levels:

  • VP of Research, Carter & Associates — building the research and intelligence infrastructure that powers effective executive search
  • Vice President of Research, Deloitte — leading research for Deloitte’s commercial real estate consulting practice, developing methodologies for complex, high-stakes talent and market assessments
  • President, RealEstate.com — running a technology-driven business at the intersection of data, market intelligence, and client service
  • CMO, FNC — serving as Chief Marketing Officer for a financial services technology company, adding C-suite operating experience to her research and consulting foundation
  • Senior Vice President, BaxterKrause Retained Executive Recruiters — where everything came together, and where she developed what she describes as a pragmatic sixth sense for identifying the right leader for the right organization at the right moment

It was that last role — inside a retained executive search firm — that crystallized the opportunity. She saw firsthand how much better the search process could be when a recruiter truly understood the industry, the function, and the culture of the organizations they served. And she saw how rarely that standard was met.

Regions Recruiting was founded with a deliberate focus: executive search and professional placement for industrial manufacturers of engineered-to-order and configured-to-order products, exclusively in the Southeast United States, with a specialization in continuous improvement talent across all functions.

That focus was not accidental. The Southeast is one of the most dynamic industrial manufacturing regions in the country — home to a dense, growing network of OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, capital equipment manufacturers, defense contractors, and B2B distributors that collectively represent one of the largest concentrations of manufacturing employment in North America. It is a region Kathy knows from the ground up, state by state, city by city, plant by plant.

The CI specialization emerged from a clear market gap. Manufacturers running lean, pursuing Six Sigma, or scaling continuous improvement programs need leaders who don’t just understand the tools — they need leaders who have lived them. Identifying that kind of talent requires a recruiter who can tell the difference. Most can’t. Regions Recruiting was built to be the one that can.
